Our Angel

This past week has felt like an eternity! Surreal! It all started on Wednesday night, we knew the moment that we'd been waiting for, for 9 months was finally here! Getting him here was as smooth as it could be. We held him and Ryan cut the cord, just like a proud daddy would! When the nurse checked him she knew immediately something wasn't right. ( thank goodness for her) They knew right away that he needed surgery to repair his (tracheoesophogeal fistula) TEF. And the only dr. in the state that does it was at primary childrens hospital. They rushed him by ambulance since the snow storm was
so bad, and his daddy followed as
close behind him as he could. They
hooked him up with tubes and IV's
galor! We waited and waited and
worried and worried until he finally
had his surgery saturday morning.
Everything went better than as
planned, and jaxon was back out
recovering. So far they've just been
keeping him sedated and as still as
possible so the repair can heal. When
i saw him yesterday he was slowly
coming off his sedation so he can start
breathing on his own, ( i can't wait to
get that stinkin ventillator out of him)
He was trying so hard to open his eyes
and focus on his mommy. For the first
time since wednesday night my heart
was so overfilled with joy! Hopefully
today they can take him off the
ventillator. Tomorrow they will do an
esophogram to make sure the surgery
didn't leave any leaks. If all goes well
then they can take the tubes out of his
nose and throat. Then we will
FINALLY be able to hold him and
give him all the kisses that we can!
Slowly they will start feeding him pedialyte
and breast milk. By the end of next week
we should be able to bring him home.
Brock can't wait to see him. He has
been wondering all this time why he
can't go back and see baby jaxon.
He says that he wants to kiss his
owies better! Brock has been such
a brave little boy through this
whole thing. He has been staying
with grandparents and is so excited
to see his little brother. He is going
to be the best big brother ever! We
can't wait to have our two little boys
home with us safe and sound.
We want everyone to know how
thankful we are for all of you! We
never realized how incredibly
supportive and amazing our family
and friends are. We feel so blessed!

Stringhams, you sure did well! Another darling little boy! He seems to have the same cute look as Brock. Aside from the tubes he looks like a big healthy baby! I am so glad that things are turning out well and that you will be able to hold and kiss him soon. Saige, Cody and I have been praying for baby Jaxon and your family! Best of luck!

Lacey... I am so proud of you for being so strong through all of this. I know that Heavenly Father has abundantly blessed your family through all that has happened and I am so grateful to hear that Jaxon is doing so much better. Isn't it wonderful what faith and prayers can do! I want you to know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers and please know that you can call upon me if you need ANYTHING! I love you girl and I know that you are a fabulous mom. Brock and Jaxon are very blessed to have a special mommy like you.
